DOG GROOMING

Grooming  Services for dogs provided by hostel for dogs include nails only, dog bathing only, cat bathing only, short clips and our speciality breed clips and longer clips.  The breed clips and longer clips are all hand scissored which requires skill and patience. These clips are more expensive because of the time and expertise required to make your dog look beautiful. All dogs require bathing prior to grooming and clipping so that we can dry the hair straight to obtain the best finish possible. Some dogs, especially our older clients and dogs that have a previous injuries, find standing for extended periods to be groomed can be quite taxing and uncomfortable. We use specific passive and supporting handling techniques to overcome this problem. No sedation is ever used on any dog.

DIY bah                                    Do It Yourself bath allows the owner to bath their pet themselves using our facilities. If the owner wants a member of staff to help bath their pet, then a small extra fee is incurred.

Dog Bath only                            Nail clip, ears cleaned, brush out, bath, coat dried, groin and bottom cleaned, pads clipped out.

Face, Feet and Tail                    Nail clip, ears cleaned, brush out, bath, coat dried, groin and bottom cleaned, pads clipped out, face, feet and tail tidied with scissors.

Short clip                                  Nail clip, ears cleaned, brush out, bath, coat dried, groin and bottom cleaned, pads clipped out, face, feet and tail tidied with scissors, and body cut short and tidied with scissors.

Long clip                                   Nail clip, ears cleaned, brush out, bath, coat dried, groin and bottom cleaned, pads clipped out, face, feet and tail tidied with scissors and body cut long and tidied with scissors.

Half Off                                     Nail clip, ears cleaned, brush out, bath, coat dried, groin and bottom cleaned, pads clipped out, face, feet and tail tidied with scissors, and half of the hair is left and tidied with scissors.

Full Scissor                               Nail clip, ears cleaned, brush out, bath, coat dried, groin and bottom cleaned, pads clipped out, face, feet and tail tidied with scissors, and all the body coat is hand scissored.

Light Tidy All Over                      Nail clip, ears cleaned, brush out, bath, coat dried, groin and bottom cleaned, pads clipped out, face, feet and tail tidied with scissors, and any hair that is out of place is scissored off.

Tidy All Over                             This is the same as a full scissor where the shape is scissored into the dogs coat as the coat is too long for a light tidy.

Breed Clip                                 Nail clip, ears cleaned, brush out, bath, coat dried, groin and bottom cleaned, pads clipped out and the dog is clipped and scissored to the breed standard or a variation that the owner specifies
